Project Description

This project is working to create a robotics team for 7-9th graders in Binghamton who will have the opportunity to compete in FIRST Robotics Competitions. By providing middle school students the opportunity to engage in robotics, these students, especially young girls, will be exposed to STEAM fields early. The project leader, Alison Garrity, was a part of her high school’s robotics team, which did very well in FIRST Robotics Competitions. She is currently seeking corporate sponsorships from local tech and engineering companies (such as IBM and BAE Systems) to fund the middle school robotics team to compete in FIRST Robotics Competitions.
